For me, knife making is an art form. (I was an artist in my early twenties, but I didn’t like the “starving” part, so I became an engineer.) I've been making knives for around 9 years, but I've been working with wood and steel for decades.  40 plus years of engineering experience has also helped me with understanding what is happening to the steel on a molecular level during the forging and heat treat processes. It allows me to produce a tough knife that will hold its edge. I take my time and try to make each knife as close to perfect as possible. If you’re in a hurry, I may not be the the right fit for you.

Each knife I make is unique and one of a kind. If you are looking to have your favorite knife recreated, I'll probably do it, but most people are going to be happier if they order something they don’t already own. My designs ebb & flow with the different patterns in each new billet of steel I make and I work best with a few general guidelines, a budget and artistic freedom. I will admit, it feels like magic every time I finish a knife.

New orders are subject to a wait list of approximately three to four months, and I require a $25 deposit to secure your place in the queue.

Fixed-Blade Prices start at $600-to $800 for smaller, simpler knives and $1000 for the larger more complicated ones. The price goes up from there, based on size, materials and complexity.  Folders start at $600. 

When your order nears the top of the list, I'll reach out via email to discuss your knife design and review costs.  Once your knife is designed, you mail a check (or we can arrange online payment) which is held until your knife is ready to ship.  From design to completion, custom orders can take anywhere from 2-3 months.  Custom knife deposits are non-refundable  Questions?
